Address Exclusions for MDaemon Spam Honeypot
-
Hi everyone
We are using Hosted SecurityGateway for a while now. Recently we started having large number of spam messages most of which end up in Quarantine, but some get through. Our "Quarantine messages with score greater or equal to" setting has been gradually lowered with time and is now 3,9. With this setting I'm seeing occasional false positives, so I'm not inclined to lower it any further.
As a rule, when these spam "surges" happen, the same message is sent to the large number of our recipients, mostly department mailing addresses published on our website. And often first couple of them gets through and the rest get quarantined.
In our (on-premise) MDaemon we have setup couple of spam honeypot addresses and incorporated them on our website. Hidden, of course, in order to be automatically scooped. A lot of the incoming spam comes to spam honeypot addresses as well, but is quarantined with the rest of them on the HSG and have to be manually released.
I was wondering, is there a way to allow messages to MDaemon honeypot addresses through SecurityGateway without being quarantined?

In SecurityGateway go to Setup / Users | Domains & Users, select your domain and then click on the Users button. Select the user and click Settings. Then check the box for "Do not perform anti-spam tests for messages addressed to this account. This may still result in some messages being quarantined, it will depend on your settings.
On the same page you can also adjust the quarantine settings so that messages will not be held in the quarantine by selecting the radio button for Allow my mail server or client to filter quarantined messages. This should prevent any messages from being quarantined for the account.
