How to know DKIM signing inside Mdaemon and DNS same?

  • Hi there,

How can I confirm if the DKIM keys in MDaemon and the DNS server are the same? I tested sending an email to Gmail, and the DKIM test failed in the email details.

  • On the MDaemon server go to the MDaemon\PEM\$SELECTOR$\ directory and open the dns_readme.txt file.  Where $SELECTOR$ is the selector that is being used to DKIM sign the messages.  The readme tells you what the DKIM selector record should look like.  You can also open the rsa.public file in the same directory, using a text editor and get the public key.  The public key value should match teh p value in the DNS record.

  • Hi there,

I confirmed that both keys are the same, but why is Gmail still marking DKIM as a failure?

  • Unfortunately I'm not able to tell you why it failed just based on the information provided.

Please send a test message to domain-test@mdaemon.com so we can gather further information.

  • Hi there,

I managed to align the MDaemon and DKIM settings in our DNS correctly.

    Thank you

  • We are glad to hear you were able to figure it out.  Would you share with us what the problem was as it may help us or others in the future?

  • Hi Arron,

I'm not sure what is going wrong; perhaps the DNS is not propagating quickly enough.

  • Thank you
