Hi

V20.0.8

Been away, and our emails stopped think its DNS related due to the SMTP out but need a pointer as i have now tried all suggestions google gives me.

Its been an aclumlation of things first not being able to send to gmail/google accounts and now all outgoing emails end up in the retry queue

The log shows the MDaemon is not able to resolve MX or A records. You can try increasing the timeouts (Setup | Server Settings | Servers & Delivery | Timeouts), but I won't be shocked if you report that doesn't fix it.

Do you have a DNS server on your network? If you do, what could be preventing MDaemon from connecting to it (Firewall, Proxy, etc). Does that device show the connection?

Is the windows firewall enabled on the MDaemon server? Is it blocking the DNS lookups?

DNS uses port UDP and TCP port 53. Have you changed the port that MDaemon is trying to use? (Setup | Server Settings | DNS & IPs | Ports)

Arron, thanks for the reply strange thing as it started working again on its own. Will have a look at our firewall logs and see if anything got blocked which is possible as it is blocking a lot of things daily and a lot of user trying to access the VPN on it which is turned off. Possibly due to the increase in traffic the firewall might have blocked everything might look at getting it upgraded.
