Hello,
Once in a while, I see a file in the root folder drive of MDaemon.
Sometimes I see a message that a file was quarantined and the same exact file is placed in the root folder drive.
Is it safe to assume that all file that gets created in root folder drive quarantined file?

What version of MDaemon are you using?
The quarantine paths can be set in the UI by going to Security | Content Filter | Attachments.
Quarantined files should be placed into the paths specified. If a quarantined file is getting placed somewhere else we should investigate to figure out why.
If the quarantine paths are configured to point to the root folder drive, I'd suggest changing them to \MDaemon\CFILTER\QUARANT\.
If quarantined messages are being placed in a folder other than the configured path, please post a log snippet that shows the quarantine happening.
