Who Needs Air-Gapped Email?

Some organizations cannot expose their email infrastructure to the public Internet and may require that their networks remain physically isolated from external and possibly unsecured networks.

Government & Defense Support email operations within classified, restricted, or sensitive network environments.
Financial & Regulated Organizations Maintain greater control over email infrastructure where regulations or policies restrict cloud deployment.
Security-Sensitive Enterprises Deploy a full email platform within a private network without relying on the internet.

Research & Development Keep sensitive research communications and intellectual property within controlled network environments.
Critical Infrastructure Maintain communications within networks that support critical operations when external connectivity is restricted.
Manufacturing & Industrial Deploy email with isolated operational or industrial networks where internet connectivity is restricted.

A Different Approach to Software Licensing

Unlike conventional software licensing models that assume a persistent Internet connection for activation, validation, or licensing services, an MDaemon Air Gap License is specifically authorized for environments where the mail server cannot communicate externally. The result is a deployment model designed around the realities of isolated networks—not a cloud service modified to work offline. Once deployed, IT administrators can manage Air Gap Licenses (license renewal and license size upgrades) through a self-service process without contacting MDaemon Technologies directly.

Because Air Gap Licenses operate differently from standard connected licenses, MDaemon Technologies’ Sales and Technical Teams must review eligibility and grant authorization. Eligibility is not automatic; each license requires prior approval and provisioning.
