Issue in Webmail (all themes) with Categories on public folders after v24.0 update.
-
After upgrading to v24.0 my users are unable to right click a message and change/add categories, it doesn't exist in the menu. If they OPEN the message, then it shows.
We cleared the browser cache, etc. Same issue. They can still do it on their inbox.
To see if it's a permissions issue, I set "admin" status for the users on the public folder, and they still can't do it.
Strange part is I can still do it as a system wide admin.
Have an unhappy sales staff on this one as they use them as a way of flagging orders. They use this feature constantly.
I've tried different themes with the same issue.

From my testing, you can work around this by changing permissions. I know you've said you have already tried it, but please hear me out. The user needs to have write and delete access for the Category to show in the right click menu. After changing the permissions, make sure the user logs out and logs back in so the client gets the updated permissions.
If users are still unable to right click on a message in the message list and select category after changing the permissions, logging out, and logging back in, please let me know.
I also found that even though I can't right click on a message to set categories, I can set categories on a message by select Set Category from the message preview window.
I've submitted a bug on this for the developers to review.

Funny, I just discovered that the delete access was the magic setting right as your message came over =-)
(and admin doesn't do it... which you'd think it would...).
I've done that (with a message to be careful and not delete anything) as a work around.
Thanks for the quick response. I'll keep an eye out for the bugfix.
