A log that only records user login and logout actions.

  • Hello Team,

Nowadays, many email systems have a separate log to record the time of user login, IP address, IP location, account name, and whether the login was successful.

Can MDaemon also add this feature, similar to what is currently displayed in webmail?

    Thank you very much!

  • While its not in its own log file and it doesn't include the location on the line, this can already be done using dynamic screening.  And if you have it enabled, the location is included in the log, just not on the same line. If you go to Security | Dynamic Screening, in the Logging Options section of the Options / Customize tab, make sure the boxes for "Log all successful authentications", "Log Connections allowed", and "Log Location data when available" are checked.

You'll end up with lines in the DynScrn-$DATE$.log file that look like this:

    250603 065546477 I [00000043] 0x41502643 Allowing SMTP access: IP:3.3.2.11 LOC:"Asia, China"
    250603 065555131 I [00000045] 0x41502C05 Auth success: SMTP: IP:3.3.2.11 ACCT:user@domain.com

  • Hi Arron,

Thank you for your reply, and wish you all the best.

There is too much useless information inside because there is a large amount of external attack information in the dynamic blocking.

So, why can't there be a separate log for account login audit?

  • Thanks for your feedback, I'll add your request to the wishlist.
