Outlook - Mdaemon and M365 cohesistance - contacts issue

  • Dear all,
I use MDaemon connector 7 for Outlook.
I've recently added another account to my Outlook with a M365 licence. Outlook automatically chose it as "main" for archive and contacts and a strange issue happened.
If I send an email with my MDaemon account to a contact present also in my M365 contact list, the sending fails with a GUID@domain.com. After some research I discovered that this issue is due to the fact that Outlook searches the contacts in M365 contact list in any case and MDaemon server can't read the format of the M365 contacts.
I temporarily solved removing all the contact lists from outlook except from the MDaemon one, but some colleagues of mine had the issue back.
    Could you please help me?
    Thank you

  • From what I'm finding online, this can happen with Outlook any time you have have different types of accounts configured in the same profile and you have information stored in both accounts for the same contact. For some Outlook account types, an SMTP email address is not stored, it uses the GUID instead, which is why the client is trying to send to a GUID.

Microsoft suggests a few ways to deal with this, I'm not sure if any of the suggestions will work for you, but here are the ones I think are most likely to work for you.  The first suggestion is to remove the duplicate contacts. Another option is to configure which contact lists are searched and in what order.  To do this go to your contact list in Outlook and click Address Book | Tools | Options.  If the desired address book are not listed, right click on the address book, select properties | Outlook Address Book tab, and check the box for Show this folder as an email address book.  you can also disable this checkbox on address books that you do not want Outlook to use.
