A problem regarding custom queues.

  • Hello,

I am trying to use a Custom Queue combined with Content Filtering to route outbound emails from specific users through a Smart Host.

    Initially, testing went smoothly.

However, I recently noticed an issue: if an email has two or more recipients under the same domain, it bypasses the Smart Host and is delivered directly from the mail server.

On the other hand, if the recipients are under different domains, the email routes through the Smart Host as expected.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this?

We need to ensure that all qualifying emails are consistently sent via the Smart Host.

Attached are screenshots of the logs showing delivery via Smart Host and direct delivery bypassing the Smart Host.

  • This is occurring because the queue route slip is read first, and then over-written by the message route slip.  You can work around the issue by disabling the option for "Use multiple RCPT commands when sending mail" found under Setup | Server Settings | Servers & Delivery | Sessions.

We'll look into addressing it for a future version.
