Delivery even without a user account
-
Hello,
If mails are sent to a user who does not have an account in Security Gateway, the sender receives the error message "550 <xxx@xxx.com>, Recipient unknown".
Is there a way to set it so that Security Gateway does not check whether the recipient has a user account and the mail is forwarded directly?
Thank you
Oliver

Configuring an email gateway to accept all mail for a domain, including mail for invalid users, is generally not a good idea. We reccomend setting up a user verification source that connects to a valid list of users. SecurityGateway can then automatically create user accounts for any valid users and pass the mail on to the mail server. Any mail for invalid users will be rejected by SecurityGateway. This way you only have to manage user accounts on your mail server and you don't have to deal with sending bounce notifications for all the mail that you've accepted for invalid users.

Hello Arron,
I am aware that it is not a good idea to forward all mails. However, I have a customer who does not want an extra account to be created for all users (employees), but only for a specific group.

Unfortunately, this is not allowed because SecurityGateway is licensed by user accounts.
