Worldcliente.exe CPU high Usage
-
Since the last update we see that the process worldclient.exe usually has >20% CPU usage. It rarely drops below 20 and if it does it only drops for a few moments.
To the worldclient process, if we add other processes (ClamAV, Spam, mdaemon.exe.....) it makes that the CPU has peaks of 99%, which makes that the server goes slow.
Version 25.0.2
Microsoft Server 2019
Ram 16GBTaskManager Screenshots attached.
I don't know if anyone else is having similar problems to us.
-
What version of MDaemon were you running previously?
Has the machine been rebooted since the upgrade to 25.0.2? If it has not been rebooted, please reboot.
If the problem continues after rebooting, please capture a series of hang dumps for worldclient.exe while the problem is occurring. The easiest way to do this is to open task manager, right click on the worldclient.exe process and select create dump file. Wait about 1 minute, create another dump file, then wait another minute and create another dump file.
If you'd prefer to use a tool such as debug diag to create the dump files, please follow these instructions, https://knowledge.mdaemon.com/how-to-collect-hang-dumps
Please zip the dump files along with your webmail log for the day and upload them to us at:
https://mdaemon.sharefile.com/r-rc3922c1eed334d4dbf5e34f0bd04ccd6
Once the upload completes, please let us know the name of the file that you uploaded.

We updated from the version 24.5.2 and After an update, we restarted the server.
I have uploaded a zip file called "apr"
-
I'm not seeing the file. Can you upload it again?
Be sure to click the upload button after you browse for or drag and drop the file.
-
Can you re-check again, please.
-
I have the upload now and the files are being analyzed but it may not be sufficient.
It only contains 2 dump files. These dumps are basically a snapshot of the process, think of it like a picture. Typically 2 dump files are not enough for us to get a good idea of what is happening. By adding a 3rd dump file it gives an additional "picture" to look at and we have pictures over a 2 minute period instead of just 1 minute.
The log file is MDaemon's All log, not the webmail log. Unfortunately the MDaemon all log doesn't actually contain any logging for webmail.
Please repeat the process while the issue is occuring and be sure to capture at least 3 dumps files, 1 minute apart each, and include the Webmail log file. The webmail log file name can vary based on your settings bug it should be named similar to webmail-$DATE$.log and be in the MDaemon\Logs directory.

Hi Arron,
Uploaded Again with the name "APR_2.zip"
-
Thank you!
Are you using ActiveSync? Are there any users that have reported issues with ActiveSync?
Can you upload a copy of your airsync log for the same day the hang dumps were taken?
-
Hi Arron,
Yes, we are using activesync. No issue reported by any user. Majority use "samsung email" application in androids.
Airsync log updated.
-
Hi Arron,
Have you been able to check the airsync log?
-
We are still working on it.
-
There is a user on your server that has a large contacts folder (12496 items) and their phone is repeatedly synching the contacts. The user is mi*****.go*****za@yourdomain.com. Can you have the user turn off the sync on their phone and see if the high CPU usage stops? If turning off the contact sync on the user's phone fixes the issue, can you upload a copy of the addrbook.mrk file for us to test with?
You can upload files to https://mdaemon.sharefile.com/r-rc3922c1eed334d4dbf5e34f0bd04ccd6
Please let us know the name of the file onces its uploaded.
-
After disabling the sync of the above mentioned user's contacts, we still have a high CPU usage.
On the other hand, in the graphs we see that the high usage tends to be during office hours.
If you need more info, let me know.
-
Some CPU usage is normal. How much CPU is webmail using after disabling the contact sync?
How many webmail users to you have?
How many ActiveSync users do you have?
-
Hi Arron,
You are right, there has to be some usage of CPU, But what we are seeing is not normal, Spikes of CPU usage from worldclient.exe every 10-15s, from 20% up to 50% or more.
We have arround 55 user for activesync and arround 100 webmail users.
-
If you disable activesync entirely for a period of time does the CPU usage look normal then?
Can you upload another set of webmail and airsync logs for us to look at?
