Anonymous Autodiscover for Outlook mobile
-
Problem: Is it possible to configure anonymous requests in MDaemon autodiscovery for Outlook Mobile (Android)?
MDaemon Server: 24.0.1
Outlook 4.2519.0
1. Goal
To migrate mailbox settings to Outlook mobile email (Android) using autodiscovery (Mdaemon)
2. Actions
2.1 I create a new mailbox in Outlook mobile (android)
2.1 I enter the name of the mailbox "login@domain.com"
At this step, there is no password input yet.
2.2 Then I observe this in the AutoDiscover logs:"IP:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx SRV:autodiscover.domain.com RM:POST SSL:On USA:OutlookMobileCloudService-Autodetect/1.0.0 QS: LNG:(null) CT=text/xml; charset=utf-8 CL=429 TID:0x00003920
-The account contains insufficient information to log in."2.3 Then Outlook mobile (android) asks to enter the password and all other parameters manually...
My understanding is that Outlook Mobile makes an anonymous request to mdaemon, and the server cannot accept such authorization...

No, according to the specification for AutoDiscovery authentication is required.
It looks to me like Microsoft has changed something to no longer allow Autodiscover to work in the Outlook for Moblie application. I'm not able to get it to even attempt to authenticate to the autodiscover server.
Maybe there is a way to force it, but I wasn't able to find it. You may want to try reaching out to Microsoft for assistance.
