Webdav no resources

  • Hi, a strange situation happend, a user was no longer able to access the company shared public calendar using outlooksyncronizer webdav installed on his outlook with the error "webdav no resources". Mdaemon webdav log reports as error: "Calendar.IMAP and Tasks.IMAP is of unsupported type []". Coping the same folders from another user's account solved the problem. How is it possibile? Were those folders just corrupted in same way ?

    Thanks

    Luca

  • What is the specific version of MDaemon you are using?

Copying a folder from one user's account to another user's account should not solve a probelm with accessing a public folder.  Public folders are stored in a central location for all users.

Do you still have the folders that could not be accessed?  If you do have them, does the problem return if you put them back in place?  If the problem returns, please upload a copy of the folders to us for testing.  https://mdaemon.sharefile.com/r-rc3922c1eed334d4dbf5e34f0bd04ccd6

  • Mdaemon v25.5.1

I sent you an exctract of the webdav log. Once again, I encountered an issue with another account that was unable to sync with the public calendar using the OutlookSynchronizer add-in. The add-in reported: “No resources found.”

Upon checking the WebDAV log in MDaemon, I noticed that Calendars.IMAP was listed as an unsupported type []. To resolve this, I copied the corresponding folder from another account that had no issues.

After retrying the sync, the MDaemon log then reported a similar problem with Tasks.IMAP. I applied the same fix — copying the folder from a working account — and finally, OutlookSynchronizer started working correctly.

  • Can you upload a copy of the folders that were in place when the issue was occurring?

  • Hi, tired of investigating, I switched to the Mdaemon Connector trial and it seems to have solved several problems. If confirmed at the end of the trial, we will purchase it. Thank you.

  • I'm glad MDaemon Connector is working for you, sorry we weren't able to figure out the issue.

If you'd like to investigate it further, please upload a copy of the folders that were in place when the issue was occurring so that we can try to reproduce it.

  • @Arron

Hello, new problem: since I installed mdaemon connector on Outlook 365, the client reports that some characters are not interpreted correctly and emails received by recipients have strange characters. The problem seems to particularly affect characters with accents such as ì, è, or with apostrophes. The sender also sees the same errors in Sent folder in Outlook, even when viewing the emails via Webmail. Is this a known issue with Connector? I uploaded a screenshot. Thanks

  • What is the specific version of Outlook you are using?

Can you upload an MSG file from the user's mailbox directory on the server that has the issue?  We need the actual .msg file from the server, not what Outlook saves or exports.

Are messages being composed in plain text, HTML, or rich text? In outlook go to File | Options | Mail

    What language Outlook is installed?

What language is the OS Outlook is running on?

What is the "preferred encoding for outgoing messages" configured in Outlook?  File | Options | Advanced

What language MDaemon Connector was installed?

    > What is the specific version of Outlook you are using?

Microsoft Windows Version 10.0.22621.6060 (64 bit)
    Outlook Version 16.0.19328.20190 (64 bit)
MDaemon Connector for MDaemon (MDConnector32.dll) Version 8.0.2 (64 bit)
MDaemon Connector Toolbar (MDConnector32X.dll) Version 8.0.2 (64 bit)

Uploaded one of those emails along a screeshot from webmail e file about connector.

    > Are messages being composed in plain text, HTML, or rich text? In outlook go to File | Options | Mail

    HTML

    > What language is the OS Outlook is running on?

    Italian

    > What is the "preferred encoding for outgoing messages" configured in Outlook?  File | Options | Advanced

    Western European (ISO)

    > What language MDaemon Connector was installed?

    Italian

The customer also informs me that as soon as the message is sent, it appears correct in Outlook, but then after a while, when viewed again, it appears with incorrect characters. I hypothesize that this may be due to Connector synchronization, but this information is not entirely reliable.

  • If you change the preferred encoding for outgoing messages to UTF-8, does it fix the issue?   The setting can be found in Outlook under File | Options | Advanced.

Is the MSG file that you provided from the sender's send items folder or the recipeints mailbox?  If its from the sender's Sent Items, can we also get a copy from the recipient's Inbox?  And if its from the recipient's Inbox, can we also get a copy from the sender's Sent Items?

  • @Arron the msg was from sent box, I will ask for the recipient one. Meanwhile I changed the encoding to UTG-8 to all the affected Outlooks. Let's see what happend....thanks
