Attachment(s) missing from sent messages
-
A copy of the problem message from the user's sent items folder along with information about what attachments should have been included will immediately tell us if the issue occurred before MDaemon received the message or after MDaemon received the message.
If the issue is the same as the other reports we've received, it will have occurred before MDaemon received a copy of the message. In this case the MDaemon logs will not help. I suspect this is the case.
If the problem did occur in MDaemon, then yes, you can learn something from the logs. For example, if a content filter rule deleted the attachment, you will be able to tell in the logs. If you haven't checked the content filter log to see if rules might have removed an attachment, you should. If the issue is caused by a bug in MDaemon, you may be able to see odd things in the logs that make you ask questions, but ultimately you will need copies of the message to figure out what happened.

I would hold off on creating a new thread until after we learn more about the issue you are having. I suspect its the same issue being discussed in one of the other threads about missing attachments, but won't know for sure until we get more info.
I'm ok with multiple people providing information about the same issue in the same thread, I'm even ok with multiple issues being discussed in the same thread at different times. When things get difficult is when you are trying to talk about multiple different isses in the same thread at the same time.

I did not mean to open a new topic. But if this is indeed a separate issue, do we continue discussion in the topic "Attachments removed while sending (NO server signatures)" already opened by Klaus W? Because that looks very much like what I've originally reported and what happened yesterday to me.

But, you have to admit, it is odd. Two separate issues (one involving MDaemon signatures, even inactive, and other non server signature related) having pretty much the same consequences.
And we were hit by both of them at the same time!?

From the "Attachments removed while sending (NO server signatures)" topic
When your users have the issue, are they composing a new email and adding attachments, saving the Draft, then later opening the draft, attaching more files and then sending it?
If your issue is the same as what I found, downgrading to MDaemon Connector 8.0.2 should work around the issue.Just tried: New message -> close & save to Draft -> Open again and add attachment -> Send, immediately reproduces the issue!
I guess, you don't need MSGs now, right?
Downgrade to 8.0.2, re-test, no issue.

If you can confirm that is what happened to your user, then we don't need messages. Or if you downgrade to 8.0.2 or upgrade to 8.0.4 (preferably upgrade to 8.0.4), and the issue never occurs again, we'll know its fixed. Being able to have the user confirm the message was saved to drafts and then re-opened would be the best way. We are just trying to make sure, as best we can, that this was in fact the issue your user experienced so that when you upgrade the issue is solved.
We'll have a beta version of MDaemon Connector 8.0.4 available soon that will correct the issue.

Now that I'm rewinding the history, one of the affected users reported the issue happening with the messages for which she had templates stored in Drafts with additional changes/attachment adding prior to sending
Standing by for 8.0.4
Thank you Arron

Wow, that was quick!
Upgraded to 8.0.4, did couple of quick tests, all seems well. There wasn't even message from Outlook to "upgrade" the Connector.
Hope this is resolved now.
Again, thank you Arron
