Public holidays

  • Hello,

It would be great to be able to add public holidays to personal calendars for those who don't have Outlook.

    Thank you.

  • This can be accomplished in the current version by importing, or subscribing to a calendar at a site such as officeholidays.com.

To subscribe to a calendar, loging to the PRO theme in webmail and go to Calendars.  Right click on your calendar and select External Calendars.  Enter the URL provided by officeholidays.com, Select the frequency to upate the calendar, and click Add Link.  Then click the Update button.  This adds the events to your calendar, but if you remove the link, the events are removed from your calendar.

  • Absolutely fantastic and it works!👍
Is there a way to configure it for everyone?
I'm thinking maybe a public folder.

    Thank you so much.

    Alain

  • There are a couple of choices. You can configure the external calendar for each user.  To do this you have to edit each account individually.

You can create a new calendar in your account, setup the external calendar on the calendar you just created, and then share that calendar with all the other users.  I think you'd either have to create an account and point the mailbox directory at the public folder path, then configure the calendar for the account with the external calendar so that it would sync.  You'd want to restrict the account so that it could not send/receive mail.

You could also just export the holiday events from your calendar, and import them into the public calendar.

You could also set it up as a public folder, although it would be a bit more work.
