Hello,
we've got this process at the moment:
A) The Spam-Filter sorts Spam-Emails to the Spam-Trap-Folder (sorry, I am using the German version, so I may use the wrong English words).
B) Then, every day somebody from the sales department does manually check the Spam-Trap-Folder for false-positive emails.
However, every once in a while we get false-positive Spam-EMails in there, which should have gone to our HR department (containing very sensitive information sometimes).
So how can I move emails from the Spam-Trap-Folder to a dedicated HR-Spam-Folder?
Or how would I forward such emails to the HR-Spam-Folder before the emails end in the Spam-Trap-Folder?
Sorry, the question's been asked probably before, but I cannot find a solution.
Best regards
Klaus-Peter
Add senders of HR emails to the spam filter allow lists. The sending addresses would need to be added before the emails are sent to prevent the messages from going to the spam trap. And if the HR sender changes, the allow list would need to be updated. You can do this by going to Spam Filter | Filter Settings | Allow List (by sender)
You could not use the spam trap at all. Allow messages flagged as spam to flow to each individual account and be filtered into spam folders for each account. This would mean each user would be in charage of checking their own spam folder. If a HR email were flagged as spam it would reside in each individual user's spam folder until the user removed it.
Another option would be to use a content filter, or external script to try to move the messages to the HR Spam folder. This will need additional testing to prove it works and provide more details. If you want to try this, let me know and I'll run some tests to see what I can figure out.
The last option I came up with would be to use something like our email SecurityGateway product. It sits in front of MDaemon, or any other SMTP server, and is responsible for the spam filtering. Each user has their own quarantine and they receive a report on a regularly scheduled basis. It has the added benefit of maintaining a rolling 14 backup of email which user's can access without assistance from an administrator. More information is available on our website, https://mdaemon.com/pages/security-gateway or just let us know if you have questions.
