Locked out

  • For some reason, my credentials to login to SecurityGateway suddenly don't work.  The only message I get is "Incorrect Logon, please try again."  I tried the reset password link, put in a new password, same message.  Nothing has changed on the server, yesterday it worked fine, today it doesn't work.  I have no ability to get into the system.

  • I ended up having to restore the database from the previous backup in order to get this to work again.

The terrifying part about this is that according to the HTTP log, I was logged in successfully but obviously the database got wrecked by simply logging in?

  • Sorry, I didn't see your post until now.

Do you still have a copy of the old DB that you were unable to login too?

Are there any errors in SecurityGateway's system log?

  • @Arron I do have it if you want it.  There were no errors in the system log that I could see.

  • Yes, please. I'd like to see if we can find the issue.  If possible, can you send me all of the SecurityGateway log for the day it occurred as well as a copy of the SecurityGateway.FBD or a full backup of the database from when the issue was occurring.

If you contact me privately, arron.caruth@mdaemon.com, I can provide a link to upload the file.

  • @Arron I just sent you an e-mail.  Thanks.

  • Hi Bill,

We found a bug that would have prevented you from logging in once you remove the two factor auth setup from the account.  It will be fixed for the next version of SecurityGateway.

We were unable to determine why you could not login prior to removing the two factdor authentication setup from your account.

    Thanks,

    Arron
