DMARC and List Mail in Mdaemon

  • Is there any particular setup in MDaemon that should be followed when using List Mail.  I currently have DMARC setting p=reject pct=5.  The behavior I am hearing is some members of list only see the original post when another member replies.  I am curious if this is a DMARC thing and if there are recommended settings in MDaemon when using List Mail.

    Thank you,

    Jay

  • Typically, it is not advisable to allow mail from a domain that has a DMARC policy of p=reject to be posted to a mailing list.   MDaemon has a couple of options to help deal with this.

You can reject list mail from members that have configured a restrictive DMARC policy or you can replace the From email address with the lists email address.

Another option is to always change the from email address to be the lists address.

  • Thank you for your response, Arron.  Is the below what you are referring to?

    Header Settings

  • Yes. The option to reject messages from members that post a restrictive DMARC policy is on the Settings dialog.

  • I also set the dmarc policy back to quarantine.

    Thank you!
