Multiple concurrently access via webmail to same account

  • Hi,

    When we try to access the same account with webmail from different computer, one of them get disconnected: there is a workaround? We need to access some technical email from more than one pc concurrently.

    Regards,

    GT

  • Hi,

    in MDaemon Remote Admin, go to Webmail Setting | Setting and check "Enable Remember Me"

  • MDaemon Webmail only allows one user to be signed in to an account at a time.

    However, for multiple people to access the same messages, you can share the folders of the one user to anyone who needs access.

    1. Enable Shared Folders in Remote Admin at Setup -> Public Folders -> Public & Shared Folders
    2. While signed-in to the user with the technical emails, right click on the folder you need to share.
    3. Click the "Share Folder" option from the context menu.
    4. In the Share Folder dialog, add the users that need access to the emails with the necessary access levels.
    5. For the users to see the new folders, they'll need to sign out and sign back in to their accounts.

    Please let us know if you need anything else.

  • @Jonathan Yes, but you cannot reply as the shared email. Regards, Giovanni

  • @GUILBERT very insecure option... i will try! regards, Giovanni

  • @GUILBERT not working, maybe for remote admin, but not for simple email sharing

  • I know this is an old topic and the original poster will probably not benefit but we do this with Mdaemon everyday and it might help someone else. As Jonathan suggested, share a public folder such as "Sales" and set the incoming address to a corresponding email address such as sales@mycomapany.com. Now add aliases such as sales-myaccountaddress@mycompany.com to each user account that is allowed to send and receive mail from these public folders. Create a corresponding content filter to detect the sales-myaccountaddress@mycompany.com address and rewrite it to sales@mycompany.com.  You can set the default send-from to be an alias or the users regular email address depending on your needs. When they need to reply to a "Role" email they can choose to respond using the "Role" address or their own account address. Here's something similar to what we use:

    [Rule1]
    RuleName=Rewrite SALES reply to address
    uid={77205c77-bc35-4629-95df-e6e0893b93f4}
    Enable=Yes
    ThisRuleCondition=All
    ProcessQueue=BOTH
    Condition01=FROM|contains local account|AND|
    Condition02=From|contains|OR|sales-|sales-account1address@mycompany.com|sales-account2address@mycompany.com|sales-account3address@mycompany.com|
    Action01=remove header|"From",""
    Action02=remove header|"Reply-To",""
    Action03=add header|"From","'Company Sales' <sales@mycompany.com>"
    Action04=add header|"Reply-To","'Company Sales' <sales@mycompany.com>"
    Action05=remove digital signature|
    Action06=dkim sign|"s1024"
