Deleted email still showing up for other users

  • A deleted user is still auto populating on the "TO" section of email as "Some.One"<>.

tried looking for the user and mailing list to see if we forgot to delete the user but couldn't find the user.

also, the deleted user only appears for some of the users.

where else would I look to clean up autopopulating users?

  • Is this happening with users that are using webmail?  What theme are they using?

Have each user check any address book they have access to and make sure the deleted user is not listed.  Be sure to also checked their allowed senders list.

  • Thank you. He had an old deleted user email on his contact list.

also, we have another another user that's not on the backend but on everyones "common" contact.

would there be an way to automatically update the common contacts when users get deleted?

this is the error we are getting.

Error sending message!  550 5.1.1 Recipient unknown <example@example.com>

  • What version of MDaemon are you using?

In MDaemon Remote Administration under Setup / Public Folders / Public & Shared Folders, is the box for "keep contact folders up to date with MDaemon account data" enabled?

What about "Add and remove contacts when accounts are enabled/disabled?

The only way to remove the deleted user from the public contact list now is to grant a user delete access to the public folder, and manually delete the user from the contact list.

  • Just another quick question about deleted emails accounts showing up on individual accounts email.

where would the file be on the mdaemon server? Im thinking since, all users have different contacts that gets fill suggestions, individual accounts would have that file somewhere within a user folder on Mdaemon server.

    Thank you

  • The contact list that MDaemon can maintain is found in \MDaemon\Public Folders\$DOMAIN$.IMAP\Contacts.IMAP\addrbook.mrk, where $DOMAIN$ is the domain name that is configured in MDaemon.

If MDaemonConnector is used there will also be an MSG file associated with each contact in the Contacts.IMAP folder.

  • Thank you so much!
