Automatically adding user signature for new emails...

  • Hello all,

We're testing Outlook Connector. Everything seems to be working fine, except for one rather important function.

We're using Outlook Classic, version 2604 (Build 19929.20172). With the MD Outlook Connector's MAPI account only, the user's signature settings aren't retained. I've set up the signature and set it to automatically add it to every new email, but this setting isn't retained. When I reopen the "Signatures and Stationery" screen, the setting for New Messages and Replies/Forwards remains at "(none)" instead of the correct signature. And i shall add the signature manually for every new e-mail.

With other email accounts set up on the same Outlook (not dependent on the Connector), the signature settings work correctly.

Has anyone else encountered the same problem? Is there a solution?

Thanks to anyone who can answer.

    Best regards

  • Is MDaemon configured to push signature settings to MDaemon Connector clients?

What version of MDaemon are you using?

What version of MDaemon Connector are you using?

You can find the settings in Remote Administration by going to Main | MDaemon Connector | Client Settings.  Is the option for Push client settings to MC users enabled?

If it is, click the MDaemon Connector Client Settings button and select Signature. What options on this  dialogue are enabled?

  • @Arron

    Thanks for your answer.
Push Signature (push settings in general) is disabled, the Connector does not force parameters.

    MDaemon is last release (26.0.2)
    Connector is 8.0.4 (64 bits)

For now, I prefer to leave signature management to users, without managing it centrally. Is there any way to do this?

    Thanks in advance

    Massimo

  • Just to confirm, you are not pushing any settings to the MDaemon Connector clients?

Have you tried setting the registry key described here, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/outlook-roaming-signatures-420c2995-1f57-4291-9004-8f6f97c54d15.

If that does not work, try changing the Display Name for your MDaemon Connector account to be an email address instead of "MDaemon Connector". Then restart Outlook.

Outlook's new Roaming Signature feature expects the Display Name to be an email address.
